McGrew suggests that we view culture as a process. He lists six steps in the process:
1st: A new pattern of behavior is invented, or an existing one is modified. This is where emerging, inspiring, inovative women voices are valuable.
2nd: The innovator transmits this pattern to another. Weaving the World and other communication tools makes all of us a part of the process.
3rd: The form of the pattern is consistent within and across performers, perhaps even in terms of recognizable stylistic features. Women are the
ones who are most committed to investing in what will be of benefit of all.
4th: The one who acquires the pattern retains the ability to perform it long after having acquired it. We are able to make the change our own and
thereby our life, families, and communities change.
5th: The pattern spreads across social units in a population. These social units may be families, clans, troops, or bands. We are all responsible
for sharing and spreading the patterns, ideas and behaviors that will change our world.
6th: The pattern endures across generations. This can only occur if we become the change!
We are multi-dimential, multi-facited, diverse and rich. Each strand of "color" that gives voice to a world that values all is coming together to weave the culture of beauty, peace, equality, relationship, abundance that we all know is a reflection of our deepest desires.
Thanks to these multiple strands of beauty!
